When Tredyffrin Township Police arrived at the Devon Courtyard by Marriott:
An officer spoke with Davenport, who was sitting in a light colored Infiti by the hotel's Dumpsters. Police asked Davenport why he was there and according to the affidvait, "Davenport said he dropped off his friend 'Valerie' to see her friend. Davenport said that she would be inside for 10 minutes and he was waiting for her to come out."
Meanwhile, inside the hotel:
According to the charging document filed by one of the three responding police officers, two officers "entered the Courtyard by Marriott and were directed to Room 214 by the hotel staff. (The officers) walked to the room and stood outside the door for several minutes. I could hear a male and female voice coming from inside the room, but could not hear what was being said. I knocked on the door and after a minute and no response, I knocked on the door a second time."
Police meet a man named Sack:
"A.. male, later identified as Sack, answered the door."Â According to the affidavit, Sack came out into the hall and talked to police. "Sack explained that he was visiting with a friend and when we asked what his friend's name was, he looked surprised and said he didn't know."
While Sack was talking in the Hall, Valerie Andreeva was talking to an officer inside room 214.
According to the affidavit the police officer "requested Andreeva be honest with me about why she was at the hotel. Andreeva said that she works for an agency (but did not know the agency name) and that she came to give a massage for $300. I asked Andreeva if there were plans for sexual contact and she said on other occasions, but tonight it was just a massage."
Andreeva then told the officer that address on her ID was not correct because she currently had no place to live. The police woman got Andreeva's permission to look inside her purse where the "I located the $300 in $20 bills, several condoms and three containers of lubricant (2 K-Y brand and 1 generic)."
Arrangements to meet were made on the Internet
According to the affidavit filed in court by Tredyffrin Police, Sack told police he found out about Andreeva on "'Back Page.com' and said he paid $300 for a massage with a 'happy ending'. The contents of Andreeva's purse were secured and I requested that she accompany me to my police vehicle. I informed her that she was being detained and requested she accompany me to the police station which she agreed. Andreeva was not handcuffed in the rear of marked unit #23." Davenport was arrested in the parking lot and was also taken to Tredyffrin Police headquarters.
Once at the police station
Police searched Andreeva's purse more thoroughly and, according to the charging document, "located four blue packets of suspected heroin stamped 'Heat' in a wallet. I advised Andreeva that I had located the heroin and she said that she normally doesn't carry drugs with her."
Andreeva was then placed in a cell, according to police. "The heroin, $300 in cash, contraceptives, and lubricants were placed into evidence," according to the affidavit.
Police talked to Andreeva again at 2:53 a.m. with, according to the affidavit "Andreeva admittin to sexual activity as a business and Davenport being her driver."
Andreeva is charged with prostitution and (suspected) heroin posession.
Davenport is charged with promoting prostitution and criminal conspiracy.
Both suspects were released.
Sack has not been charged in the case.
A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for September 12th in front of Magisterial District Judge Thomas Tartaglio in .
