New Restaurant Replaces Georges'

Gone is Georges Perrier and with him the more rustic, European and dark elements of what used to be Georges' and what is now Peppercorn in the Eagle Village Shops.

Interior designer Chris Mullen of Berwyn told Radnor Patch that urban chic was the direction she took the space, creating a number of different eating areas and along with them their own atmospheres.

A once-dark bar is lighter and brighter, imported luxurious fabrics bring softness to hard tile and wood flooring, and mirrors are placed strategically to accentuate both the light and the fabric.

A collection of old wood pepper mills is the main attraction on the walls, along with a variety of lighting fixtures and modern art. Despite the elements of modernity, the furniture's lines, colors and fabrics echo a traditional sentiment.

Above all, Karen Lotman, who owns the building and the restaurant with her husband Herb, wanted the feeling to comfortable, Mullen said. "They're really trying to make their own mark," she said. "It's not the same restaurant."
