PA Turnpike Delays Tues Night In and Near TE

The PA Turnpike is warning drivers about construction-related delays Tuesday night.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission reports that motorists traveling westbound on the Turnpike (I-76) from Valley Forge (Exit #326) to the Downingtown (Exit #312) Interchange should be prepared for a single-lane traffic patterns tonight, Tuesday (July 31) between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. tomorrow morning.

At 7 p.m. construction crews will establish single-lane patterns, closing the left lanes on the interchange ramps entering and exiting the Turnpike at the Downingtown Interchange. The contractor will be milling and paving the ramps until the pattern is lifted by 5 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Motorists traveling west from Valley Forge should stay alert for slow moving construction vehicles or stopped traffic approaching Downingtown and obey the posted speed limits through the work zone. All work is weather permitting and the contractors schedule is subject to change.

Motorists are urged to obey posted 40/55 mph speed limits and use extra caution when approaching all work areas. Construction-zone speed limits are enforceable, and fines will be doubled.
