It may be one of the most unusual lost and found or "stolen and recovered" cases ever in Tredyffri Township.
Nearly 40 years after a wallet was taken from a car in the area of Lizbeth Lane and Irish Road it was found and turned in to police.
Tredyffrin Police say a man discovered the wallet on the ground on Lizbeth Lane between Irish and Greene Roads. Inside was a Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board ID card dating back to 1969. Police tracked down the owner, who is still local. The owner told cops she was "shocked" to have the items, which included several cards but no cash, returned. The victim couldn't put an exact date on when the wallet disappeared but it was at least the mid-1970's.

Police sources tell TE Patch that from its condition it appears the wallet may have been outside in the elements, perhaps buried in underbrush the entire time.
The wallet was found and returned back in March, but police did not release the information until Thursday. Police tell Patch that the victim did not want to be identified for this story.
