Pushing Your Kids to Compete

Do you push your child in sports?

As the Olympics draw to a close, we’ve seen amazing feats of athleticism from some very young athletes. We’ve swelled with pride as Team USA brought home medal after medal.

We’ve seen the stories of the road to their success for them and their families.

We’ve seen athletes who train in their hometowns, living with their families and others who move states away to be with the best coaches.

We’ve heard stories of severe injuries and amazing recoveries.

We’ve seen athletes win medals and athletes miss the mark, but all of them under extreme pressure with a desire to succeed and earn gold.

As a parent, do these Olympic games and the stories of these athletes make you hope your child finds success in sports or another (non-athletic) arena?

For those parents with children already heavily involved in sports, do you feel you have to set limits?
