Rep. Shusterman In Quarantine After Coronavirus Case In PA House
Rep. Melissa Shusterman awaits COVID-19 test result in quarantine, after Rep. Paul Schemel's positive result Thursday.
TREYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — State Rep. Melissa Shusterman (D-157th) announced today she would be in quarantine as she awaits coronavirus test results, following Rep. Paul Schemel's (R-90th) positive COVID-19 diagnosis on Thursday.
"I was present at the Capitol Tuesday for a Judiciary Committee meeting, and have been notified by contact tracers," said Shusterman on social media today.
"Per CDC guidelines, I am going into quarantine and will receive a COVID-19 test within the next few days. My staff will continue office operations in my absence, and will represent me at in-person events for the next two weeks. Everyone, please remember to wear a mask, and self-isolate if you are feeling sick."

Montgomery County State Rep. Joe Webster (D-150th) called out a group of Republicans who he said have failed to exercise proper precautions.
"This message should be reiterated for my Republican colleagues in the State Government Committee meeting yesterday who still cannot seem to bring themselves to wear a mask for the protection of themselves and others around them," Webster said. "Selfish inaction such as theirs make positive test results like the one announced today more real and dangerous for those at greatest risk."
