Reported-Recent Conestoga Grad Survives Wreck

What one fire service veteran says may have saved the driver's life Sunday night on Lancaster Ave.

A teenage driver survived a horrific single car accident Sunday night on Lancaster Avenue just east of the Daylesford Train Station, probably because of one factor.

Berwyn Assistant Fire Chief Eamon Brazunas says the driver was wearing a seatbelt and that probably made all the difference when the vehicle slammed into a utility pole and flipped on its side.

The driver, identified by a fire department source as a 2012 Conestoga High School graduate, was eventually pulled from the wreckage through the moon roof of the vehicle. The driver, whose name was not available late Monday, was taken to Paoli Hospital for observation and released.  Brazunas says when Berwyn Fire Company rescuers arrived the teenage driver was still strapped into his seat. Brazunas told Patch that probably made all the difference in saving him from serious injury or death.
