Road Closures Next Week For Valley Forge Turnpike Project
Lane closures are scheduled from Monday, April 24, to Thursday, April 27, along Route 422 and Gulph Road.

TREDYFFRIN, PA — PennDOT announced Friday that lane closures are scheduled next week on Route 422 and Gulph Road as part of an ongoing $117 million project to widen the Pennsylvania Turnpike at the Valley Forge Interchange.
Updating the bridges over Thomas and Glenhardie roads is part of the project to widen a 2-mile stretch of the turnpike to six lanes at the Valley Forge Interchange.
The work is expected to be completed in 2025.

Turnpike officials said the interchange is the most widely traveled section of the turnpike.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

- Monday, April 24, from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning, traffic paces are planned on U.S. 422 in both directions between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202; 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, alternating right lane closures and traffic paces are planned.
- Monday, April 24, and Tuesday, April 25, from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. the following morning, alternating right lane closures and traffic paces are planned on N. Gulph Road in both directions between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202;
- Wednesday, April 26, from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning, left lane closures are planned on U.S. 422 in both directions between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202; and
- Thursday, April 27, from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning, right lane closures are planned on U.S. 422 in both directions between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202.
Glenhardie Road in Tredyffrin Township is closed from the turnpike overpass to Richards Road through mid-July, to construct the foundation and abutments for the new turnpike bridge.
Crews are also repairing a bridge over Trout Creek along Glenhardie Road.
Tredyffrin supervisors this week authorized an emergency engineer design proposal to be conducted to repair a bridge on Glenhardie Road North over Trout Creek.
