Run Time: Local Races In May

Looking for a local run this May? From West Chester to Center City Philadelphia, these 5K, 10K, and half-marathons are running this month.

Radnor ABC’s first annual 5k Run for A Better Chance and 1 Mile Fun Walk will take place May 20 at 9 a.m. at Radnor Middle School. Proceeds from this event will go directly to support the Radnor ABC program and its deserving scholars.

The 2nd annual St. Katharine of Siena Fitness Awareness 5k is being held on Saturday May 19, 2012 at 9 a.m. The day consists of a 5k run, a 1-mile run, food, refreshments and music.  Both the 5k and 1-mile run start and finish in front of on Midland Avenue. The race course takes runners through the scenic neighborhood of South Wayne

There are also a number of races happening across the region, including 5Ks for dogs, races for moms and daughters, and a half-marathon for the "odd" among us.

Stateline Loop 9K/5K Trail Run; 9 a.m. start time; Kennett Square, $25; benefits the Land Conservancy of Southern Chester County

5K for Mother's Day; women-only 5K; 2 p.m. start time; West Chester; $25-35

Saturday, May 19

Dragonfly Run; 5K; 9 a.m. start time; Malvern; $25-30; benefits children with autism

Kennett Run, 10K, 5K, power lifting competition, 9 a.m. start time for 10K; Kennett Square, $25-30

Nick Smiles 5K; 9 a.m. start time; West Chester; $25-30; benefits Bishop Shanahan's fine arts program
