Sandy Led to Massive Fire Company Effort Here
New Photos from Berwyn: While parts of NY and NJ are still digging out, TE can start adding up the toll Sandy took on TE.

Hurricane Sandy was not only one of the biggest storms ever to hit the Northeast, it also was one of the costliest in terms of damage, power outtages and manpower.
The Berwyn Fire Company mounted a massive effort in anticipation of the storm, staffing the station and a makeshift substation at the Tredyffrin Municipal Building during the height of the storm.
According to a report on the Fire Company's website, the volunteers and paid first responders handled 47 calls in 46 hours, many overlapping. According to the report every piece of the company's firefighting and ambulance equipment was on the street at one point during the storm.

It was "all hands on deck" as members of the fire company were on duty at the firehouse and Tredyffrin Township Municipal Building even as family members were riding out the storm back at home.
