School Year Kicks off For Lots of Stoga Kids

Academic classes don't start for a couple of weeks, but the 2012-2013 school year kicked off Monday for hundreds of Conestoga High School athletes and musicians.

The 2012-2013 High School year is underway on the athletic fields, band rooms and parking lots around Conestoga High School.

Monday was the first day for high schools covered by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA).  This is the first week when teams are allowed to start formal practices with coaches and athletes working out in their official school capacities.

Many student athletes and coaches work through the summer in informal clubs and organizations, not under the auspices of their schools.
