Sidewalk Bridge Closed Due to Deterioration
Did you see the sidewalk closing on the Old Lancaster Road bridge?

Walkers are going to need to find a new way to get across Old Lancaster Road.
The sidewalk on the Old Lancaster Road Bridge over the Amtrak railroad tracks is closed due to structural deterioration, according to a release on the township's website.
The crumbling sidewalk was noticed on July 3 after a bridge inspection found "severe deterioration where a support beam connects with an overhanging pedestal underneath the walkway."

“This pedestrian restriction on the Old Lancaster Road bridge is indicative of the fragile state of many older bridges in the region,” PennDOT executive Lester Toaso said in a statement.
PennDOT engineers will reportedly be looking into repairing the bridge.
