Small Plane Crashes On Tredyffrin Township Golf Course
Golfers help the pilot and passenger escape get out the plane, police said.

TREDYFFRIN TWP. PA —A small plane crashed at 3:29 this afternoon in an open area of St. David’s Golf Club course on Upper Gulph Road in the Wayne section of Tredyffrin Township.
The aircraft reportedly suffered a mechanical failure, and the pilot was able to locate an open area on the course near the 14th hole to make an emergency landing, according to police.
The pilot and a female passenger got out of the plane with assistance from witnesses who were on the golf course.

The two were taken to Paoli Hospital to be treated for injuries.
The small Cirrus 22 single engine plane crash landed near the club’s maintenance building, approximately 100 yards north of Upper Gulph Road.

The aircraft was enroute to Wings Field in Blue Bell, Plymouth Township, from Fort Myers, Fla. with a stop for fuel in South Carolina.
The aircraft impacted a slight rise in the terrain before coming to rest near a set of pine trees.
Radnor and Berwyn fire companies responded to the scene and transported the occupants to the hospital.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will be handling the investigation into the events leading up to and including the crash.
The Tredyffrin Township police department will remain on location until the arrival of the FAA and NTSB investigators.
