Sobering Reality of DUI at Conestoga H.S.
Teacher lying flat on a Conestoga parking lot is a sobering lesson in reality for students.

When Conestoga High School seniors and juniors see a teacher lying flat next to a wrecked car in a parking lot it is a sobering taste of reality. That's why the brings a graphic "show and tell" demonstration of what can happen in a serious crash to students.
Social Studies teacher Merri Gardner was one of the teachers who played the role of an accident victim thrown from a car in a mock DUI accident.
This "accident" was staged, but there is nothing fictional about the statistics surrounding drunk driving or in how first responders make decisions about who to rescue and treat first at an accident scene.

The demonstration is presented to Conestoga students every other year in conjunction with prom season.
The message is not lost on 16-18 year-old-drivers. Click here to read Lavi ben-Dor's story from the students' perspective on the Conestoga student newspaper's website.
