If you love music, murder and mayhem, then Footlighters Theater's production of Jekyll & Hyde, The Musical, is just the thing for you this Halloween season. Set in the always good for spooky, Victorian England, J & H is the tale of a dedicated doctor's descent into madness. It's the well known story, his intentions are good but playing with the 'sacred life-force' is a prescription for disaster.

Allen Puy of Exton is the infamous Jekyll/Hyde. His best friend, Gabriel Utterson (Patrick  Ruegsegger, Claymont, DE) tries desperately to save the good doctor and he's aided in this attempt at salvation by Emma Carew (Kellianne Quirk, Morton), Jekyll's fiancée and her father, Sir Danvers Carew (Pete Rolston, Berwyn) all of whom try to steer Jekyll from his destructive path. Even though Emma's charms are great, the side of Jekyll turning into Hyde prefers the affections of lady of the night, Lucy Harris (Jennifer Roman, Upper Chichester) who entertains every evening at the "Red Rat", an establishment on the very wrong side of town. Contributing to Jekyll's decline is Simon Stride (Chaz Myers, Media) an additional suitor for Emma and roadblock to Dr. Jekyll's plan for the ultimate cure. As Jekyll reveals his plans for moving science forward, the Board of Governor's comprised of  Lady Beaconsfield (Lisa Panzer, Aston), Bishop of Basingstoke (Basil Kershner, Coatesville); General Lord Glossop (Joe Fortunato, Lancaster); Lord Savage (Rib Klein, Norristown); and Sir Archibald Proops (Vinny Ali, Springfield) are heard to shout "Abomination!" and they also stand in the way of Jekyll's goal to achieve immortality. Poole, the manservant (Wes Heywood, Devon) worries over the doctor's mental decline even as Jekyll's relentless pursuit sends him frantically into the night to purchase more potions and drugs from Bisset, the local apothecary (Chris Moran, Devon). Meanwhile on the other side of town Spider, the pimp, (David Richman, West Chester) makes Lucy's already miserable life even more so and she is drawn inexorably to the good doctor, Jekyll, unaware that the demon Hyde resides within him!
