Officer Scott Costa earned the Meritorious Service Award from ASIS International's Greater Philadelphia Chapter.

The heroic actions of a Tredyffrin police officer during an active shooter incident in the Paoli section of the township last year earned him special recognition at a law enforcement appreciation dinner hosted in Philadelphia in March.

ASIS International’s Greater Philadelphia Chapter awarded Officer Scott Costa with its Meritorious Service Award at its special gala at the Philadelphia Cricket Club, according to the Daily Local News.

Costa was the first office to arrive at the scene of an attempted murder turned attempted suicide at the 100 block of Summit Avenue on April 8. According to reports, Costa provided lifesaving services to gunshot victim John R. Williams, who had been shot by John Richard Berry during a family dispute.
