Tredyffrin Police Investigate 3 Burglaries

Homeowners get nasty surprises when they return home.

Homeonwers in the 800 Block of Contention Lane in Berwyn came home just before 4 p.m. on Monday (July 30) to discover their front door was open. Tredyffrin Police answered the call, searched the house to be sure there were no burglars inside. According to police, once the residents were able to go inside they discovered that "a jewelry box containing several pieces of jewelry was stolen as well as a 32” flat screen TV. The value of the TV is $350.00 but it is unknown at this time what the value of the jewelry is."

Timber Lane in Devon

Tredyffrin Police are investigating a burglary in the 600 block of Timber Lane in Devon. In this case the victims returned home just after 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 26 to discover jewelry, change and broken pottery on their driveway.  According to Tredyffrin Police, "when police arrived, the home was searched and secured. Missing from the home was a jewelry box. A neighbor stated that they had observed a white Ford pick-up truck in their own driveway earlier in the day, but the driver stated they were soliciting for a landscaping business. The unknown subject then drove off."

Supply Yard Burglary

Tredyffrin Police were called to a supply yard in the 1000 block of Swedesford Road in Berwyn at 7:37 a.m. on Thursday, July 27.  According to police, officers were dispatched to the report of a burglary discovered in the supply yard. On location, police observed a hole cut in the fencing, but it is unknown if anything was taken at this time. As this is the 2nd incident in the past week at this facility, extra patrol was requested."
