Child Endangerment, $4K Retail Theft, More: Tredyffrin Twp. Police Log

Tredyffrin police arrested suspects on charges of identity theft, child endangerment, forgery, drunken driving and more during May.

TREDYFFRIN TWP — Tredyffrin police arrested suspects on charges of identity theft, child endangerment, forgery, drunken driving and more during May.

Arrests:

  • Betsy Basgall, 64, of Erdenheim, Montgomery County, is free on $15,000 bail after being arrested May 3 on charges of simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child, recklessly endangering another person and harassment stemming from an incident at a facility in the Malvern section of Tredyffrin Township.
  • John O’Connor, 44, of Glen Mills, Delaware County is free on$10,000 bail after being stopped on May 3 for traffic violation and found in possession of multiple weapons.
  • Robert Sires, 36, of Nashville, Tenn., remains free on bail after being arrested May 11 on theft charges after an investigation discovered that, while employed by a hotel in the Berwyn section of Tredyffrin Township, he stole business checks and fraudulently made them payable to himself.
  • Frank Jarbeck, 53, of Lancaster, remains free on bail after being arrested May 17 on charges of stealing nearly $4,000 worth of merchandise from a retail store in the Devon section of Tredyffrin Township.
  • Kathleen Templeton, 57, of Malvern, is free on bail after being arrested on charges of retail theft, drunken driving and resisting arrest. Police said when they were called to a theft from a retail store on May 17 in the Wayne section of Tredyffrin Township, Templeton was found drunk in her vehicle, in the parking lot of the shopping center. Templeton also resisted arrest when officers attempted to place her into custody. Templeton’s blood-alcohol content was 0.123%. A motorist is legally intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08%.
  • Berisford England, 35, of Philadelphia, is free on $2,500 bail after being arrested on May 22 attempting to steal over $2,000 worth of merchandise from a retail store in the Wayne section of Tredyffrin Township.
  • Raneea Saunders, 30, of Wayne, is free on $10,000 bail after being arrested for retail theft and receiving stolen property after it was discovered that she returned stolen merchandise in order to purchase additional items at a retail store in the Devon section of Tredyffrin Township.

Driving Under the Influence

The following individuals were charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs. The legal limit to operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth is .08%. Individuals who refuse a test may be subjected to a license suspension of 12 months, which runs consecutively with any other suspensions.

The suspension will be 18 months if the driver has a prior refusal suspension, a prior DUI conviction, or any similar prior offense.

  • Paul Blackwell, 19 of Wyncote: marijuana.
  • Matthew Nock, 40 of Philadelphia: refused a blood-alcohol test following a motor vehicle crash.
  • Peter Klinges, 62 of Malvern: blood-alcohol of 0.22%

Outstanding warrant

  • Sean Paradise, 37 of Philadelphia was taken into custody by the Philadelphia police department for an active warrant filed by the Tredyffrin Township police department for motor vehicle theft.
