Tredyffrin Welcomes New Police Officer

Michael Cermignano was sworn into the Tredyffrin Township Police Department by Judge Analisa Sondergaard on Monday.

The Tredyffrin Township Police Department has added a new officer to its ranks.

Michael Cermignano, 27, of Bucks County, was sworn in by Magisterial District Judge Analisa Sondergaard on Monday. A formal ceremony is planned during the Board of Supervisors meeting Monday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Keene Hall.

“I congratulate Officer Cermignano and his family for his achievements in his law enforcement career and appointment to our agency,” said police superintendent Anthony Giaimo. “Our departmental mission is to provide the best services possible to our great community and Michael with his expertise will surely continue that legacy.”

Patrol Officer Michael Cermignano, a 2004 graduate of Franklin Towne Charter High School, was a 2007 graduate and valedictorian of the Philadelphia Police Academy. Previously employed by the City of Philadelphia as a police officer certified and specializing in its elite regional intelligence operations center (DVIC), Cermignano worked closely with regional law enforcement organization as well as federal organizations such as the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security.

Cermignano is also a certified Emergency Medical Technician, volunteer firefighter and fire inspector.
