Unexpected Death Hits Easttown Town Hall Hard
The death of a respected township employee's husband saddens Easttown employees.

Services are planned for Friday morning to remember Peter DePiano of Devon, who died Sunday at age 60.
According to an obituary posted on Dignitymemorial.com, DePiano was born in Solofra, Italy and moved to Paoli, PA at age 11. He was the son of the late Francesco and Consiglia (Gaeta) DePiano. Upon graduating Northern Chester County Technical School and West Chester University, Mr. DePiano was employed at Anro Inc Printing and Direct Mail for 38 years, serving many capacities, most recently as Production Planner and Estimator.
He was the beloved husband of Margaret DePiano, manager of Easttown Township's Hilltop House meeting and conference center located next door to the Easttown Municipal Building. He is also survived by a son Peter Jr., and daughter-in-law, Heather, of Audubon, PA.

According to the online obituary Peter epitomized what it meant to be a father, sharing in many activities with his son, from coaching in the Devon-Strafford Little League, volunteering at the TEMPO refreshment stands, or rooting for the Phillies and Villanova Wildcats.
Easttown Board of Supervisors Member and co-owner of DH2 design in Berwyn Marc Heppe remembers Peter DePiano as a "gentle man who was always very positive." Heppe's design company worked on a book about the history of Devon with the DePianos. He said the news of his passing had deeply saddened township workers who have known the DePianos for years.
