Unlocked Car Thieves Strike Again
Tredyffrin Police say another car has been hit in Tredyffrin Township.

The rash of thieves stealing items from cars in Tredyffrin Township continues.
Tredyffrin Police say someone opened an unlocked car door in the 900 block of Valley Forge Road in Devon in the overnight hours between last Saturday and Sunday.
Police say the victim called to report that sometime overnight and unknown actor entered their unlocked vehicle and removed a wallet which contained US currency and several credit cards. The credit cards were fraudulently used at several stores in Philadelphia."

There has been a rash of these kinds of "crimes of opportunity" in Tredyffrin in recent months. Police say the best way to avoid becoming a victim is to remember to keep car doors locked whenever you leave your vehicle, especially in your driveway.
Easttown Police Detective Lt. Scott Albee tells Patch these are often difficult crimes to solve because they happen in the dark overnight, often in residential areas. Other local police officials agree. Police also advise residents not to leave valuables visble in cars.
