Upper Main Line Consignment Shop Re-Opens
Non-profit consignment shop benefits many area organizations, including a school in Berwyn.

After a summer of being closed, the Neighborhood League Foundation's shop is back in business.
The Neighborhood League Shop, 191 E. Lancaster Ave. in Wayne, held a grand re-opening ceremony on Friday after a summer of being closed for renovations. The shop's new look includes freshly painted walls, new flooring and updated cabinets.
But Wayne Business Association member and Neighborhood League Shop volunteer Carol Jane promises the shop will still offer the same great consignment items — from high-end clothing and jewelry to bargain items.
Jane also said that folks should remember that the Neighborhood League Shop is non-profit.
"So many of the consignement shops are for profit," she said of the shop, which has been in existence since 1925. "And we're not for profit. Money the community raises goes back to help the community by grants."
The 101-year-old organization gave out seven grants in 2012. Recipients included Wayne Senior Center, the Women's Resource Center, The Timothy School in Berwyn, The Clinic and more.
