Volunteers Needed for Easttown Comprehensive Plan Task Force

The township received a $34,000 grant from Chester County to update its 2001 Comprehensive Plan.

The Easttown Township Board of Supervisors is putting together a task force to begin updating its 2001 Comprehensive Plan and needs community to volunteers to join in the process.

The Chester County Commissioners recently awarded the township a $34,700 grant to develop the new plan with the assistance from the Chester County Planning Commission.

The comprehensive plan will establish a long-range vision for Easttown, define community goals and objectives, and provide guidance for implementing programs and policies for the Township’s future growth and redevelopment.

The Board of Supervisors is interested in establishing a nine-member Comprehensive Plan Task Force to guide the update with the township planning commission and staff. The board plans to appoint task force members that reflect the diversity of residents, business owners, and community leaders.

The planning process is expected to begin this September and continue for 18 to 24 months. It is anticipated that the Task Force will have, on average, one two-hour meeting per month with an estimated six hours of review, comment, and preparation time in-between the meetings.
