Three projects are ongoing - Aqua, PECO and PA Turnpike- in the northern section of Tredyffrin Township.
TREDYFFRIN, PA —Warning: Motorists are asked to avoid the intersection at Richards and Gulph roads during weekdays due an Aqua water main project.
The intersection is closed at various unscheduled times in all directions during the weekdays while Aqua replaces the water mains.
The initial stages of the project began in the summer. Active construction work began in the last week and is expected to be completed within the next several months.

DiRocco said township officials had shared concerns over the site with the project superintendent and hopefully they will be addressing them soon.
But, for the meantime, there is no easy way out on the Glenhardie section of the township.
Gulph Road leads to an entrance of Valley Forge Park, and then goes to Phoenixville. The road is used by northern Chester Countians to get to King of Prussia and trains on the Main Line to Philadelphia
Throughout the day, motorists are often forced to drive out of the way only to be confronted with other obstacles.
- Thomas Road, under the Turnpike overpass, remains closed during the work week and Glenhardie Road is the only direct route from the Glenhardie area toward major roadways.
- Crews are working to expand the Pennsylvania Turnpike to six lanes.
- At the same time as the Aqua project, PECO is working on installing new natural gas lines.
The PECO gas line project is also along Gulph, West Valley and Walker roads. The work is part of a $3 million project to modernize PECO’s natural gas system.
The project includes replacing existing natural gas mains and bare steel natural gas service lines with new plastic pipes.
PECO officials said the new pipes enhance safety and are more durable.
The PECO work is scheduled from 7:30 a.m.to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Restoration and repaving will begin within 45 days of the natural gas installation.
If you smell natural gas, call PECO at 610-832-6420 .
