WEATHER ALERT: Rain, Slush, Sleet Could Mean Slippery Monday Commute
"Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility, and use extra caution if driving," the National Weather Service said.

Rain, slush and sleet could make for slippery Monday morning and evening commutes, the National Weather Service said Sunday.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in place for the region from 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, through 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10.
Rain will move into the region Sunday night, the NWS said, and will mix with sleet and rain Monday. Monday night, “a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected … before changing to all snow toward midnight.”

- Sunday night: Rain likely, mainly after 1 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 31. East wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than 0.1 inches possible.
- Monday: Rain. High near 35. Northeast wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between 0.1 and 0.25 inches possible.
- Monday night: Rain, freezing rain, and sleet before 11 p.m., then snow likely. Low around 25. North wind 11 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than 0.5 inches possible.
