A Big Plant Sale and a Concert, This Week

The Upper Dublin Parks and Recreation Department will host Steve Pullara at Mondauk Common on Tuesday, April 30 from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. [This event has been postponsed.] 

Pullara has designed a program of blended music and art for the performance. He'll be singing and guiding the audience through cultures, people and customs with songs and unique instruments. The performance will also include Pullara's trademark drawing lesson.

On Wednesday, May 1, Sandy Run Middle School will hold the UDSD K-12 Allied Arts Show from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Ambler Gearing Up For 'First Fridays': Ambler Main Street (AMS), the nonprofit entity responsible for producing family-friendly events in the Borough of Ambler, has announced the kickoff to the 2013 event season with First Fridays in Ambler beginning this Friday.

On Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Ambler Arboretum of Temple University will hold its spring plant sale. The event — which dates back to the early 1900s — will feature woody plants and perennials, veggie starts, and native plants. Department of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture and the Ambler Arboretum Advisory Committee will be available to answer questions. Cash or checks are accepted. Proceeds from the spring plant sale will support the Pi Alpha Xi National Honor Society and the Ambler Arboretum Fund. A special “sale within a sale” will also be held for the Hope for Ella Foundation. All proceeds from the sale of these special flowers will help fund research of Neurofibromatosis Type 1, benefit Ella’s treatment, and help feed Philadelphia’s hungry!
