Tornado Turmoil Ending In Upper Dublin Township
The police department and administrative staff will return to their original locations that were destroyed by a tornado in September 2021.
UPPER DUBLIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Over four years since a tornado ripped its municpal complex apart, the township's administrative building and police station are returning to their original locations.
State Rep. Ben Sanchez announced the long-awaited move following the devastating tornado.
The Upper Dublin Township Police Department is expected to make its return on Friday followed by the adminstrative staff the following Friday after spending years in temporary quarters on Virginia Drive.

Sanchez said their newly rebuilt offices are about to open.
"Over the next few weeks, several township departments will be moving into brand-new, modern facilities designed to improve accessibility, efficiency, and service to our community.," officials said. "As many of you know, the tornado four years ago changed so much in Upper Dublin. Since that day, our residents, partners, and neighbors have worked together to rebuild, restore, and move forward. Now, we’re just days away from officially opening our new Police Station and Administration Building."
The police department is expected to return to 803 Loch Ash Avenue in Fort Washington on Friday. Meanwhile, the administrative staff will move to its office on Friday, Dec. 19.

Sanchez said the "coordination and true community efforts" especially goes to Township Manager Kurt Ferguson and his team, The Upper Dublin Board of Commissioners, Police Chief Wheatley and the police department, and the Upper Dublin Library for opening its doors to accommodate their temporary building needs.
