Alleged Drunken Driver Splits PECO Pole
The late-night crash happened in the 300 block of Twining Road.

A Philadelphia man was arrested late Monday after he allegedly lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a PECO utility pole in the 300 block of Twining Road.
According to police, Jontae James Mosby, 25, of North Lambert Street, lost control of his vehicle, a 1996 blue Buick, as he was negotiating an S-bend while driving southbound on Twining Road at about 11 p.m. He then drove out of the travel lanes and struck a PECO utility pole on the sidewalk before his vehicle came to rest in the road. The PECO pole was split in half and both travel lanes were blocked.

Police said there was heavy front-end damage to the vehicle and the front airbags had deployed. When police arrived, Mosby was standing near the driver’s side door of the vehicle.
Mosby’s breath smelled of alcohol, he had bloodshot eyes and was slurring some of his words, police said; he had a blood alcohol content of 0.101 percent.

Mosby does not appear to have a criminal history.
