UDHS Arts and Lecture Series Kicks off Tonight

The Upper Dublin Education Foundation kicks off its new Arts and Lecture Series with a presentation of storytelling and musical performance from the new book, Dancing in My Underwear: The Soundtrack of My Life, by Mike Morsch. The event will be on Thursday, October 25th at 7:30pm in the new Upper Dublin High School auditorium.

Dancing in My Underwear is Morsch’s memoir about growing up with the music of the 1960s and 1970s combined with interviews of many of the artists who made up the soundtrack of his life. The book — details of which can be previewed at Soundtrack.Edupublisher.com — includes interviews with all the surviving members of the Beach Boys, Barry Manilow, Olivia Newton-John, Montgomery County natives Daryl Hall and John Oates, Micky Dolenz of The Monkees, Wynonna Judd and many more. Morsch, an award-winning columnist, is executive editor of Montgomery Media in Fort Washington, which publishes the Ambler Gazette.

Musical guest will be Philadelphia singer-songwriter Dan May, whose latest CD Dying Breed, was named one of the Top 10 best albums of 2011 by the Philadelphia Inquirer. You can learn more about him by going to www.danmaycd.com. May, along with guitarist Tom Hampton from the Dan May Band, will perform selected songs by the Beach Boys, The Association, America, Three Dog Night, the Doobie Brothers and others.
