
Eastern Center for Arts and Technology donated the equivalent of 1,500 meals on Tuesday.
The school, as part of its SkillsUSA community service project, donated more than $700 to Philabundance. Accepting the rather large check was Philabundance annual fund manager Evan Post.
Each year SkillsUSA Pennsylvania chooses a community service projects in which all Pennsylvania chapters can participate.

The 2012-13 initiative was Feeding America, the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Its mission is to feed America's hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and to engage our country in the fight to end hunger.
The SkillsUSA Officers and students conducted raffles at its leadership conference in the Poconos last November. The organization also held a “Coin War” in October in which each Eastern program was invited to build a scarecrow and have it displayed at a pizza social held at the school. Students, faculty and staff placed coins in a jar for the designs they liked the best. This event itself raised $533.
