Former Dresher Business Owner Pleads Guilty to Failing to Pay Business Sales Tax

Whitpain man and Dresher business owner plead guilty on Tuesday to failing to pay business sales taxes.

David F. Garvey, 45, of the 1600 block of Larchwood Drive in Whitpain, and the former owner of Saladworks in Dresher, pled guilty in Montgomery County Court on Tuesday to "20 counts of theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received in connection with incidents that occurred between October 2008 and July 2010 while he was the owner and operator of a Saladworks franchise in Dresher," according to an article in the Pottstown Mercury.

Garvey is free on bail, pending sentencing and faces a possible "maximum sentence of six-to-12 years in prison on the charges."

According to the Mercury, Garvey failed to remit a total of $84,286 back to the state in collected sales tax.
