Upper Dublin Gas Nudges Up

For the second week in a row, neither Cumberland Farms nor Sunoco is selling the cheapest regular-grade fuel. If you’re looking for cheap 87-octane gas, visit either Shell or 7-Eleven — it’s selling at both places for $3.39 per gallon, the same price as last week.

Four of the six gas stations being tracked week-to-week by Upper Dublin Patch kept their regular-grade gas prices steady, while Sunoco and Cumberland Farms each upped the price by two cents. Still, Sunoco and Cumberland Farms are still below the national average for regular gas, which stands at $3.53, according to AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report.

Sunoco is still the place for cheap premium fuel; it’s going for $3.69 per gallon, which is 20 cents lower than the national average.

Lukoil continues to sell the most expensive regular- and premium-grade gas. It’s going for roughly a quarter more per gallon than the national average … no small change.

If you were to fill up your 20-gallon gas tank at Sunoco — which is selling the second-cheapest 87-octane gas — instead of Shell or 7-Eleven, you’d be spending an extra $1.20. But if you hit up Lukoil instead of Shell or 7-Eleven for 20 gallons of 87-octane gas, you’d be spending an extra $7.60.
