UPPER DUBLIN, PA — Members of the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania recently stopped by Temple's Ambler campus in Upper Dublin to offer some healing to an area impacted by a devastating tornado last month, one that affected the school, local residents and even the township's government complex center.

The healing ceremony for the land and community took place at Temple Ambler on Oct. 21, according to the university.

School officials say that Chief of Ceremonies Chuck GentleMoon Demund, Storykeeper Adam Waterbear DePaul and members of the tribal drum circle The Itchy Dog Singers, all of whom have a personal connection to the arboretum at Temple Ambler, came to the campus to conduct their healing ceremony at the Learning Center quad.

"After the tornado, the Arboretum community is still reeling from the damage to their treasured and well-cared for environment," the university states on its website.

The school said that the healing drum ceremony would "help heal the hearts and minds of the community and see the Arboretum into the future in a good way."
