Masks Now Required To Enter Township Buildings and Facilities
Upper Dublin will now require all individuals to be masked inside township buildings and facilities, following some neighboring communities.

UPPER DUBLIN, PA — This eastern Montgomery County municipality just became one of the latest towns to required anyone entering township buildings or facilities to be masked regardless of whether individuals have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
The township announced via social media that the masking requirement would go into effect immediate as of today, Aug. 10.
Some neighboring communities, like Abington Township, instituted a similar rule last week.

Many Montgomery County municipalities and school districts are reinstituting mandatory facemasks requirements in light of rising coronavirus cases.
Some are receiving backlash from community members who desire the freedom to choose whether or not to wear masks as a mitigation strategy against COVID-19.

"Enough of the theatrics," Jim Calciano wrote on Upper Dublin's public Facebook page. "Leave people alone."
"This is absolutely ridiculous. It should be by choice," Nicole Envy Viera commented on the Facebook post.
Health officials blame the rising number of cases as of late to variants, or different strains, of the virus, which have surfaced in this second round of the pandemic.
An area of Montgomery County school districts have also since instituted mandatory universal masking for the upcoming school year due to the rising number of positive COVID-19 cases.
