Police: Drunk Man Arrested From Floor of Maple Glen Bar

A Bensalem man was arrested in Maple Glen after the report of a disturbance at a Maple Glen Bar.

According to Upper Dublin Township Police reports, on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 3:41 p.m., Upper Dublin Police Officers were dispatched to Maple Glen Tavern, 505 N Limekiln Pike in Maple Glen, for the report of a disturbance. 

According to dispatch, the caller reported a male was inside the bar causing problems. According to the police reports, when officers responded to that location, the officers were directed inside the bar where they observed a white male subject, later identified as Daniel Fontana, 53, of Bensalem, lying on his back on the floor of the bar.

According to reports, while police were speaking with Fontana, he became fully responsive, and was angry, yelling and attempting to stand up.

The officers could smell an odor of alcoholic beverages coming from Fontana and he was slurring his words when he spoke. According to reports, an officer placed handcuffs on Fontana for the safety of everyone in the bar.

As a result of the incident, non-traffic citations will be filed against Fontana, charging him with Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct.
