Alleged Public Drunkenness and Recent Thefts in Upper Dublin

Theft … On Monday, April 29 at about 7:30 p.m., a victim in the 700 block of Signal Hill Road reported that someone had stolen $8,000 from the victim’s bank account on April 25, police said. According to police, the victim said that someone had deposited a large amount of money into the victim’s account and also withdrew $8,000 at the same time. The signature on the check was the victim’s name, but the victim did not sign the check, police said.

Identity theft attempt … On April 24, someone tried to access credit card accounts and attempted to “cash out” an unknown amount of money from a credit card account belonging to a resident in the 200 block of Navajo Path in Ambler, police said.  The victim received calls from a retail store and a credit card company regarding the suspicious activity, police said.

Theft and access device fraud … On April 26, sometime before 8:13 p.m., someone went through a locker at the Manufacturer’s Golf Club in the 500 block of Dreshertown Road and stole four credit cards from a wallet belonging to a Menlo Park, Calif. resident, police said. The victim cancelled the cards but someone had already made a fraudulent purchase at a Target store in Warrington and used the debit card at an unknown bank, police said. The victim doesn’t know how much money was stolen.

Melissa Margaret Connor, 19, of the 1000 block of Hunters Lane, Oreland, received non-traffic citations for public drunkenness and underage drinking on April 27 at about 2 a.m. following a report of a woman screaming in the road in the area of Twining Road and Wischman Avenue, police said. According to police, Connor smelled of alcohol and she admitted to drinking alcohol.
