Temple Sinai's 'The Music Man' Runs through Sunday

The show is the revitalized Temple Sinai Players' tenth performance.

Temple Sinai will perform the Tony-Award winning Broadway musical “The Music Man” through March 17. The show will be the tenth production since the revitalization of the Temple Sinai Players.

Most recently, the Players have performed the Broadway hits “Seussical the Musical”, “Annie”, “Big the Musical,” “Wizard of Oz”, and “Little Shop of Horrors.”

The Music Man is the story of Harold Hill, a traveling salesman who comes to River City, Iowa to sell band instruments and uniforms to the town’s children.  A conman by trade, he doesn’t know anything about playing music, so he convinces the town’s citizens to buy the instruments to escape the “trouble” that will be caused by the new pool table in town.  All are taken in by his charm except Marian Paroo, the librarian.  It is not until Harold helps Marian’s younger brother Winthrop overcome his fear of speaking that Marian falls for the lovable conman.

With a cast and crew of well over 100 people, the Temple Sinai Players comprise a variety of talented adults and kids. Upper Dublin School Board Member David Robinson is playing Harold Hill.  Playing opposite him as Marian is Tracey Roffman.  The cast ranges in age from 8 to their late 70s. One cast member returns to the group after being away for 25 years.  Another cast member’s parents were founding members of the 60-year-old group.  In honor of the 60-year anniversary, the Temple Sinai players will pay tribute to the original and founding members of the group.

All shows will take place in the Temple Sinai auditorium, 1401 North Limekiln Pike, Dresher.
