Upper Dublin and Eastern Grad Serving in Japan
Andrew Benischeck is in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Yokosuka, Japan.

Upper Dublin High School and Eastern Center for Arts and Technology graduate Andrew Benischeck is currently stationed in Yokosuka, Japan with the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. George Washington, a nuclear aircraft carrier, where he maintains and fixes the electronics for airplanes such as range-finding systems.
Benischeck transferred to Upper Dublin High School as a junior and chose the half-day welding technology program at Eastern — where he graduated with the second highest grade ever. At Eastern, he served as a student ambassador and represented the program at career expo presentations for tenth-grade students.

After Benischeck completes his enlistment period in two years, he plans to pursue a career in welding and attend a post-secondary welding school.
Benischeck was home on leave for a few days last week. During that time, he visited Eastern to speak to the welding technology class about post-secondary options.

Benischeck’s grandfather and uncle were also in the U.S. Navy.
