Upper Dublin Elementary Students Raise $400 To Help With Storm Damage Remediation

A few Thomas Fitzwater Elementary School students raised money this past weekend to help with storm damage remediation in Upper Dublin.

UPPER DUBLIN, PA — A handful of youngsters spent some time this weekend helping to raise money for the Upper Dublin community after Hurricane Ida wreaked havoc more than a week ago.

A few students who attend Thomas Fitzwater Elementary School sold lemonade and pretzels on Sept. 12, raising around $400 to be used toward storm damage remediation, according to a post on the Upper Dublin School District’s Facebook page.

The money is expected to be turned over to the Fort Washington Elementary School Parent-Teacher Association, which will distribute the proceeds to the Upper Dublin schools that were impacted by the tornadoes spawned by Ida, the post states.

Upper Dublin was hit particularly hard by Hurricane Ida. In addition to the schools, the township building that houses municipal offices and the police department was also significantly impacted when a tornado tore the roof off the complex.

Since then, the governmental offices and police operations have been relocated to other parts of the township.
