'30-Hour Famine' Gets Help From Upper Dublin Lutheran Church
The church will participate in the hunger-fighting event this weekend.

Teens from the Upper Dublin Lutheran Church will participate in World Vision’s 30-Hour Famine this weekend. Prior to the event, students will raise money — for every $30 they raise, one child can eat for a month. Groups participating are also urged to perform hands-on service projects during the 30 Hour Famine weekend.
As part of the “famine,” members of the church will go into the Upper Dublin community to collect food in the morning. In the afternoon, the group will feed hungry people in Philadelphia.
Money raised by 30 Hour Famine participants help feed and care for children in communities in need around the globe through World Vision. A portion of the money raised assists families in need in the United States. Famine funds contribute to World Vision’s response in areas where famine, conflict, and other crises make children vulnerable to hunger and preventable disease. Since 1992, 30 Hour Famine has raised close to $150 million. World Vision works in nearly 100 countries, helping approximately 100 million people every year.
