Sirota told Patch on Wednesday that he was happy to be heading toward another term on the school board.
"I'm thrilled that our entire slate won this election and now we can get back to the important and rewarding work of governance," Sirota wrote to Patch. "I'm really looking forward to working with Andy, Jenna, and the rest of the board for the next cycle!"
Cairo-Vitella, who was part of the UD United slate, said she was very proud of the effort her team put forth, and that she and the others appreciate the support shown by individuals from primary election day through this week.
"The energy at the polls all around the district was amazing," she wrote to Patch. "Although we are disappointed with the results, we know we did everything we could to try and move the needle in this 20-year stronghold.
"Our hope is we have awoken and created a heightened awareness within our community," she continued. "The four winners of yesterday's election have an enormous responsibility on their shoulders. We hope they will lead with ears, eyes, and hearts open to ALL community members in Upper Dublin, not just those that think like them. Let's hold them accountable! We are UD United!"
There were a number of mail-in ballots that still needed to be counted across Montgomery County, so final election numbers may end up changing a bit. Patch will continue to keep the community informed of any changes with regard to the results.
