We Want You: Nominate an Upper Dublin Resident for the Medal
The 29th annual UD Medals are coming, but not before we see some nominees.

Upper Dublin Township is looking for a few good men (and women) (and businesses) (and non-profits).
Simply put, the township is seeking the best of the community. The Upper Dublin Medal awards are upon us, but first, the residents of the area needs to suggest some potential winners.
According to the township's website, nominations are sought for the 29th annual Upper Dublin Medal in three categories:

1) Citizen Award

3) Business/Non Profit Award
"The Upper Dublin Medal is perhaps the most well known and prestigious of all local awards," said the township's site. "If you have someone you would like to nominate – especially a teacher or administrator deserving of special recognition – please consider submitting the easy to complete form."
The form is also available for download with this article under the "pdf" files at the top right of the page. The deadline for submission is Monday, April 1.
The township noted that the awards will be presented at the Upper Dublin Medal Ceremony on Wednesday, May 22 at Manufacturers’ Golf and Country Club, Dreshertown Road, Fort Washington, from 6 to 9. T

"The community is invited to attend," said the township's site. "Tickets are $25 per person."
The Upper Dublin Medal Program is sponsored by Upper Dublin Township, the School District of Upper Dublin, the Fort Washington Business Alliance and the Upper Dublin Education Foundation.
To submit a nominee, print out the attach pdf form. You can fax your nomination to 215-643-8812 or mail it via the U.S. Postal Service to Upper Dublin Medal Planning Committee, School District of Upper Dublin, 1580 Fort Washington Avenue, Maple Glen, PA 19002.
Below are the descriptions the township has released for each category to help you think of someone deserving.
Outstanding Educator - The Selection Committee chooses an educator who has made a significant contribution to the educational process. The individual should possess the ability to communicate and relate to students toward educational achievement; should “care” about teaching and “the kids”; possess a high degree of expertise in his/her chosen field; demonstrate a willingness to share ideas, talents, and experience; and promote a willingness to participate in both school and community activities. This award is limited to either a full-time administrator or teacher employed by the School District of Upper Dublin.
Outstanding Citizen - The Selection Committee chooses a member of the Upper Dublin community for recognition of exemplary service to the community, including, charitable work, volunteer service, community involvement or achievements. The criteria apply to long-term service and/or special dedication during a recent community commitment or service project that benefited the entire Upper Dublin community. Those individuals currently serving an elected or appointed position are excluded if the work for which they are credited was completed as part of their assigned duties.
Outstanding Community Business or Non-Profit Organization - The Selection Committee chooses an Upper Dublin community non-profit organization or community business that has contributed significantly to enhancing opportunities for the students of Upper Dublin and/or improving the quality of life for the citizens of Upper Dublin. The criteria apply to long-term service and/or special activities during a recent community service project that benefited the entire Upper Dublin community.
