5 Nonprofits To Get Behind In The Upper Macungie Area

UPPER MACUNGIE, PA — Nonprofit groups are keystone community organizations in the Upper Macungie area. Fortunately, there is no shortage of organizations to volunteer or get behind financially, and that need your help.

Here are five outstanding nonprofit groups you should know about in the Upper Macungie area:

1. Second Harvest Food Bank —Helps feed the hungry in the Lehigh Valley and five other counties in Northeast Pennsylvania, helping more than 200 agencies.

2. Upper Macungie Fire Department —The township's fire department includes the Upper Macungie Township Station, Fogelsville Volunteer Fire Company, and the Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company No. 1. Volunteers are always welcome.

3. Lehigh Valley Humane Society —The Allentown-based shelter helps to find forever homes for pets. Donations are always welcome.

4. ArtsQuest —Provides arts, culture, and educational programs in the Lehigh Valley. The organization is partnering with the township to produce four events at Grange Park this year.

5. Macungie Elementary PTO —The Macungie Elementary School Parent Teachers Organization raises funds and sponsors events throughout the year to benefit students and communicate with families and staff at PTO meetings.
