Amazon Fresh Grocery Store May Open In Eastern Montgomery County: Reports
Amazon Fresh may be coming to eastern Montgomery County. The building has been under construction across from the Willow Grove Park Mall.
WILLOW GROVE, PA — An Amazon Fresh grocery outlet may soon be coming to the neighborhood.
The facility, which has been under construction at the former Barnes & Noble Booksellers site in the Willow Grove Shopping Center, would add to other Amazon Fresh locations in neighboring Bucks and Delaware Counties.
The site location is along the 100 block of Park Avenue, which sits on the Upper Moreland Township side of Moreland Road.

An Amazon Fresh would likely generate customers from Upper Moreland and neighboring Abington Township, which is just across the street and is home to the Willow Grove Park Mall.
Philly Voice reported that Amazon Fresh had applied for a liquor license at the new Park Avenue location, which was home to the Barnes & Noble up until the time of its closure last year.

The shopping center is owned by Federal Realty Investment Trust, which references the site — 122 Park Avenue — on its website as being part of an ongoing, multi-million-dollar renovation to "revamp the physical character" of the shopping center.
The property management company says that the renovated center would include a "new-to-market grocery concept," and the addition of 18,000 square feet of new small shop space.
The aging shopping center sits across the street from the Upper Moreland Township Municipal Complex, Police Department headquarters and the local library.
Park Avenue is a small side street, but often attracts visitors since it has played host to various community events, such as the Juneteenth festival back in June.
Patch in Bucks County reported last summer that the Warrington Township location was the first Amazon Fresh to open in Pennsylvania.
In July, an Amazon Fresh facility was getting ready to open in the Broomall Commons Shopping Center in Broomall, Delaware County, according to media reports.
And earlier this year, Amazon Fresh was looking to open a location in Havertown, Delaware County, but the company ran into some issues with desired signage.
Patch previously reported on those issues and that story can be found here.
The status of the liquor license for the Havertown location still appears to be pending, according to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
