Drew Magaha Ranked Fourth in Nation in Track and Field

Congratulations to who represented Upper Moreland at the PIAA Track and Field State Championships last weekend. Magaha won the 1600 meter run, smashing the old state record, with a 4:07.32. Drew is now ranked fourth in the nation amongst high school boys in the 1600. His time destroyed the state-meet record set in 2004.  Great job Drew and the rest of the track team for a great season.

Drew Magaha's 2011 accomplishments include:

  • May 13- Magaha won his 2nd consecutive SOL American Conference 1600M championship, beating the field by 12+ seconds and breaking the League record by 2 seconds with a 4:13.50.
  • May 19 - Magaha won his 2nd consecutive PIAA District 1 1600M championship, beating the field by 2 seconds and breaking the district record by two seconds with a 4:10.99.
  • May 28 - Magaha won his first PIAA State 1600 meter championship, beating the field by four-plus seconds and breaking the State AAA record by two seconds with a 4:07.32.
