Bowl for Cummins Family Fundraiser
The Upper Moreland community continues to support a family who lost their home and possessions to a devastating fire.

Residents of Upper Moreland and Hatboro continue to define the meaning of a tight-knit community with the ongoing support for the Cummins family, who lost their home and most of their possessions in a which took place in July.
Several fundraisers have taken place in the weeks proceeding the fire, including a , a very-well attended in Horsham, and an event sponsored by the Upper Moreland Little League and City Kitchen Pizzeria in Southampton.
The next fundraising event will take place this Friday from 8 to 11 p.m. at Pike Lanes in Southampton.

According to Rose Moran, an event organizer, the entirety of Pike Lanes has been rented out for the event. She said that the bowling center offered event organizers a discount due to the fundraising nature of the event.
Any proceeds raised during the event will go directly to the Cummins Family.

So far, there are 50 participants who have ordered tickets.
"Some people don't care about the bowling; they just want to come out to help," Moran said.
While the bowling center has the capacity to host 130 bowlers, Moran said that there are many attractions at the event that may also be of interest.
In addition to bowling, raffles from various local businesses will be available, as well as a potluck-style dinner, with food and beverages being donated by several restaurants hailing from both the Upper Moreland and Southampton areas. According to Moran, the bowling event is expected to take on a festive air.
Moran, who communicates with the Cummins family, said that the family is ready to move forward back to normalcy. She added that the family's three young children are looking forward to the new school year.
"Their attitude has definitely become more positive," Moran said.
, sent out days after the fire, the Cummins family expressed gratitude to friends, family and neighbors.
“We offer our most sincere thanks to all of you. As anyone who has lost their home before may attest, it is an arduous and time consuming task to rebuild.”
According to Moran, the bowling event will be the final planned community-led fundraiser for the Cummins family.
