Eastern Auto Tech Students Get on the Road
Eastern students visit Mercedes Benz in Fort Washington and UTI in Exton.
On Nov. 16, 36 (EASTERN) Automotive Technology students visited Mercedes-Benz of Fort Washington and Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Exton. The students were chaperoned by EASTERN’s Automotive Technology Instructors, John McDonald and .
Carl Dietz, Shop Foreman at Mercedes-Benz guided the students through a tour of the sales department, customer service drop off area, preparation and repair shops.
Mr. Dietz explained the importance of achieving good grades in their Automotive Technology program and how relevant attendance records are to future employers.

Students then visited UTI where Lee Kope, Regional Admissions Director, and Ron Johnson, Customer Service Supervisor, led students on a tour of the facility. EASTERN Automotive Technology graduates who currently attend UTI met with the students to explain the benefits of UTI’s program.
Students were treated to lunch and visited the Diesel, Automotive, Driveline, Electrical, Engine Performance, Air Conditioning, and Hot Rod programs. Mr. Kope explained the manufacturers programs and certifications available at UTI.

EASTERN’s Automotive Technology program is designed for the student who is serious about working in the automotive industry.
This program prepares students for success in such career fields as: automotive service, engineering and design, manufacturer representative, insurance industry damage appraisal and testing, race car development, technical writing, managing and teaching.
