Eastern Center For Arts & Tech. Have A New Partnership With Pittsburgh Technical College

WILLOW GROVE, PA — The Eastern Center for Arts and Technology has announced a new partnership with Pittsburgh Technical College in which students participating in a handful of Eastern's programs have the ability to earn up to 16 advance higher education credits.

Students who attend Willow Grove-based Eastern Center for Arts and Technology and are enrolled in the following departments can participate: Business and Technology Professional, Commercial Art, Culinary Arts, Electrical Technology, Networking and Cybersecurity, HVAC, Protective Services, Robotics and Automated Technology, and Welding Technology.

Those students will have the potential to see some financial savings in the area of $260 to $370 per college credit depending on the program of study, since the college tuition and fees charged will be based upon the total credit load carried per term, according to a news release from Eastern announcing the partnership.

"We truly appreciate that Pittsburgh Technical College recognizes many of our programs as college-level," Hayley Granacher, Easterns' school-to-career coordinator, said in a statement. "This is the first time we have had nine programs included in an articulation agreement with a postsecondary school.

"Pittsburgh Technical College's mission aligns closely with Eastern, as they strive to transform students into professionals with strong academics with an emphasis on immersive internship experiences for students," Granacher continued. "We are happy that our students can take advantage of this great offer to save time and money in college."

According to Eastern, Pittsburgh Technical College uses a per-credit and fee structure to determine total cost for college education. Pittsburgh Technical College has more than 30 programs preparing students for careers in a variety of fields. More information can be found on the college's website.

Eastern Center for Arts and Technology is a half-day career and technical school serving the eastern part of Montgomery. It is open to students from Lower Moreland, Abington, Cheltenham, Upper Dublin, Upper Moreland, Hatboro, Horsham, Jenkintown and Springfield.
