Eastern Recognizes Upper Moreland Student During National Hispanic Heritage Month
Eastern Center for Arts & Tech. spotlights Upper Moreland High School senior, and Allied Health student, Fatima Soriano during October.

WILLOW GROVE, PA — An Upper Moreland High School senior who attends the Allied Health program at the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology is being honored for her dedication to her familial background during National Hispanic Heritage Month.
Eastern is spotlighting student Fatima Soriano during the month of October, recognizing the young woman for her dedication to her Mexican roots.
Soriano, who has goals to become a registered nurse and neonatologist, is the daughter of two Mexican immigrants who came to the United States when they were 19 years old from the town of Puebla, a place Soriano has since visited during stays with her grandparents, who still reside in the town, according to Eastern.

Soriano, Eastern says, is very proud of her Mexican heritage, and celebrates her culture through activities such as participating in an annual dance parade and festival called El Carnaval de Huejotzingo, which originated in the Huejotzingo municipality in the state of Puebla, which is where her family hails from.
Soriano, who also participates in Mexican Independence Day festivals, says that it was her parents' caring and selfless nature that spurred her to consider a career in healthcare, hence her involvement in Allied Health at Eastern.
