Eastern to Hold Open House

Open House at Eastern Center for Arts and Technology () in Willow Grove is Sunday, March 4, from 1 – 3:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for parents of high school students in Eastern Montgomery County to see how EASTERN can give students a competitive edge in college or in a specialized career program.

At the Open House, parents and students will learn how EASTERN students can earn college credits while still in high school through dual enrollment and articulation agreements, and enjoy learning in a hands-on setting.

The Open House also offers an opportunity to hear from EASTERN instructors on the business environment that complements students’ high school academics. Guests will also learn about EASTERN’s Student Warranty. Many special activities in EASTERN’s career programs are scheduled, and visitors will have the opportunity to sample culinary delights prepared by EASTERN’s Culinary Arts students.

EASTERN’s half-day career programs for 11th and 12th grade students include:

• Allied Health

• Automotive Technology

• Collision Repair Technology

• Commercial Art

• Computer Network Administration

• Construction Technology

• Cosmetology

• Culinary Arts

• Electrical Technology

• Electronics Engineering Technology

• Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning

• Landscape Contracting

• Protective Services

• Welding Technology

College and military representatives have also been invited so parents and students can explore all options for the future.

During the Open House, EASTERN’s Automotive Technology program will be showcasing an eco-friendly car display. Courtesy of Lafferty Chevrolet in Warminster, we will have a Chevrolet Volt and a Compressed Natural Gas
Van; Courtesy of Conicelli Honda in Conshohocken, we will have a Honda Hybrid, a Toyota Hybrid, a Nissan LEAF, and a Compressed Natural Gas Civic from the Honda Training Center.

Randy Bridgewater, Director of the Honda Training Center in Mount Laurel will be on-hand to answer any and all questions about the Honda vehicles.

EASTERN Alumnus/ Lead Technician and Shop Foreman at Conicelli Honda, and Joseph Tavani, Director for Honda Programs at Penn College of Technology, will be collaborating on a presentation on Honda green
technology.

The Landscape Contracting program will be featuring ISA Certified Arborist and EASTERN graduate, Mike Sauers, to discuss winter tree care for your property. His staff is also here to demonstrate their Aerial Lift. The Allied Health program will be featuring Merryl Fulmer, Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, presenting on everything you ever wanted to know about diagnostic imaging procedures, such as X-Rays, CAT Scans, and MRI information.
